We Need Your Help – New Coach Holiday Search – Feedback Wanted

At Coachholidays.com we are very proud to be in the forefront of technology. We were the first site to be able to search for coach holidays leaving from your home town and now we have made our search even better and more accurate to save you clicking through numerous pages to find your perfect holiday.
We need your help in testing and using the search to find your next coach holiday. If it’s proves to be a success, then please let us know, if it doesn’t work properly, then again, please let us know so we can fix it!
HOW IT WORKS
1. Select the departure date of when you would like to go. You can select either a certain date or just a month.
2. Choose +/- Days to check either side of your chosen date.
3. Select a Duration if needed.
4. Select your Departure Area, such as Surrey or Dorset, then you can enter your home town to narrow the search even more – Quick Tip: if a tour doesn’t pick-up in your town, try a nearby town.
5. Next select an operator if you prefer one to another, if not, just leave this as Any Operator.
6. Now, this is where it has changed. Instead of selecting where you would like to go, i.e. England, France etc, you can now type in your holiday destination. In the example image opposite, you can search for holidays leaving from Croydon, in June and going to Bournemouth. You can type anything you like in this box, a few examples below:
- Isle of Wight
- London
- Torquay
- Dublin
- Paris
- Berlin
- Bruges
- Barcelona
or if you want a broad search like before, just enter the country you would like to visit, e.g. England, Italy, France, Spain etc
You can also put in this box the tour code of the holiday if you know this, e.g. BSSANSD
This new search is still in development and we would love to have your feedback, positive or negative, it all helps in providing you the best possible site to search for your next coach holiday.

Neither of the searches would come back with any results even though the coach holidays go there
Searches could not come up with answer even through an advert in the local paper advertises the trip. Very hard to navigate the site.

Peter Lowe – What is your departure area? I searched for bulbfields leaving from Surrey in May and found 13 tours!

We booked our 1st coach break thro’ the Shearings website and found this a nightmare. Our next we are currently booking with you and so far it has been far easier and far more information is available. We don’t know yet if we can choose our coach seats but are hoping this is so. At least we have been able to view the hotel and the excursions before we finished booking. Great!
have just tried to find a coach holiday departing in Aug this year but each time I tried to search it came back with no tours. I went on Google and found another website, looking at this site is easier, can’t wait for my trip to Belgium in August.
What departure area were you searching from? I did a search and found 45 tours going to Belgium in August departing from Surrey
You provide a marvelous opportunity to find answers,never seen this anywhere else. I have a vey different query. I have to go to Spain but do not want to fly, and am wary of european drivers after I watched a few having more than enough wine with their meal!!! Would any coach companies with vacant seats be prepared to offer coach only fares? Many thanks for your help.

after trying to book a short break mid june, had no joy as no where available to any where from any where. with up to 5 days lea-way. my question is. IS EVERY WHERE SHUT OR FULL.
When typing in Portsmouth as departure on special offer site do not get any results on Shearings holidays apart from self drive. I previously have booked many coach holidays on this site but am no longer able to do so, as I can no longer see what is availabe from Portsmouth.
RON – I have sorted this out now, sorry for the confusion!
As you are called Coach Holidays, that is what I was looking for. When I put in a search, I get 90% air holdiays. Can you breakdown your search requirements please.
I was disappointed to find that there are no departures from Ayrshire. Why is this?

Janet – We are in the process of launching a revamp of our website and we are breaking down the different types of coach holidays; coach only, air, cruise etc. Come back soon!
Ken – I’m sorry you couldn’t find any departures leaving from Ayrshire – We have found a bug on our system and should have this fixed asap.

Stephen – When in 2010 are you thinking of going? The reason I ask is that unfortunately most of the coach operators we use on our website have not worked out their schedule for 2010, and therefore we are unable to advertise any tours this far in advance.
As this is not a live website, we try to keep it as up to date as we can with coach operator’s brochures.
Please continue to look every few weeks, or alternatively, if you find an operator advertising a coach holiday for 2010 that you would like to book, please do not hesitate in calling us on 0845 330 3747 to see if we can offer you the same tour with a discount.
Have never used the website before so cannot compare with old one. This one is fine, works well for me, I have added it to my favourites on the computer for easy access and great holidays.
I AM DISAPPOINTED I LIVE IN Feltham Middlesex and I unable to find a pick up near where I live.

rubbish cant find any grand prix trips at least ledgers do them

I think your coach holiday search is a bit of a joke!
Tried to find coach holidays in Scotland. It ask for pick up point then gave a list of holidays that all turned out to be Self Drive.
You need to go back to the drawing board with this one.

We agree that the current “beta” search includes Self Drive holidays when searching. In the normal search, Self Drive holidays are excluded from any results unless you specifically choose it from the list.
We are working on an improved search as I speak which should be rolled out soon along with another surprise!!

I wanted to search for ANY holiday IN EUROPE, at a prescribed date, but, unable to do so.
I want to be able to find all of them, not having to trawl through all the different countries.
Why cant you be able to use the HIGHLIGHTED areas (i.e. BRITAIN, EUROPE, EASTERN EUROPE, WORLDWIDE).

Was looking for a late booking for Xmas/New year( after being let down by Globespan).
It would be better if the search produced exactly what was available ( for any destination) which was what I was looking for. Instead it asked me to submit a destination. I then had to search through the destinations.
You still haven’t changed your ONLY HIGHLIGHTED destination website, OR, replied.
It also looks like (Ann Dec 17th) had the same trouble.

Peter – I understand what you are saying but at the moment with our current site, we are unable to do what you require. I will look into this and see if we can for example search for the whole of Europe.

I want to search all destinations in one go. Until I can do not bother sending anymore .
Destination search not very successful – refused to accept important, popular destinations like Athens, Greece(!!), Istanbul etc. Not at all satisfactory!
Trying to book a holiday in Tenby on the 10th or 17th May for 5 days. Any operator.Travelling from Halifax Yorkshire. All this site will show me is self drive for these dates with Shearings. Do not want self drive. M. Wainwright.
I’m sorry you were having trouble with our site. It is a problem we are aware of and this issue will be fixed fairly shortly. I checked the dates for you on our site and it came back with 5 results, 4 of them were self drive and one was a coach holiday.
