Phil says “I have had personal experience of the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s as my mother was diagnosed with this cruel disease over six years ago.”
“I will be covering an average of 65 miles per day for three months to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, solo and unsupported.”
“The Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading care and research charity for people with dementia. I am hoping that by raising money for them, more support can be provided as well aiding the Society in its search for a cure.”
He hopes to raise over £20,000 over the course of his journey and he is consequently looking for sponsorship from individuals and from companies.
Phil is also trying to find accommodation on his trip and should anyone know of friends or family living on, or near the coast, who could possibly provide a night’s accommodation, he would love to hear from you.
