I have come across this article as I am trying to find out who runs this conglomerate. As stated by previous writers, both the Gateway Services and the hotels need attention. I have just had a terrible holiday with them and feel that they do not care how they treat their customers so long as they can squeeze the last pip in a bitter lemon. I for one will not be travelling with them again.

When booking, always check whether the hotel is being refurbished! My sister and I had a holiday at the George, Harrogate in May of this year during a major refurb. Most of the problems we encountered at the hotel, stemmed from the undisclosed refurbishment. After writing two letters of complaint, and receiving inadequate responses, we are now writing to the MD. We do not want a refund or vouchers, we do want to be given basic information at the time of booking.

Shearings needs to update its facilities at London Gateway. The current setup discourages a lot of customers from re-booking with the company. It seems that not a penny has been spent on this in the previous five years.
