The Eden Project Celebrates 10 Years!

The Eden Project located in Cornwall, opened it’s doors to the public on 17th March 2001. The Eco visitor attraction and educational charity combined with a rainforest is the perfect place to learn about nature and the world around us.

Throughout its 10 years of being open the Eden Project has seen some memorable moments, such as being part of the set for the 2002 James Bond film ‘Die Another Day’ starring Pierce Brosnan. It hosted the 2005 ‘Africa’s Calling’ Live 8 concert and it has also helped provide some rare African plants for the British Museum.

The Eden Project will spend 2011 celebrating  its 10 years with a series of events. That’s why they have put together a spectacular events calendar, some of which is listed below!

The first event not to be missed with the family is the Champion-sheeps sports day! Hosted by Shaun the sheep during the Easter Holidays (9Th April until the 2nd May)

At the end of May Freaky Nature is coming back with its Seeds and Plants, plus new for 2011 the science of poo. It’s a fantastic event for the whole family to discover and learn more about some wonderful facts of the world around us.

The Festival of Play is coming as well. The event with outdoor den’s, summer splash and circus skills will start on the 23rd July and end on the 4Th September. The NoFit State Circus is a spectacular new show which starts on the 29Th July and is definitely one not to be missed.  So, take the whole family to see this spectacular show.
