Coach/River Cruise on the Rhine.July2013. This is a warning to landlubbers that have not done a River/Sea cruise before. We did a Coach/River Cruise with Grand UK holidays for the over 55s. being our very first River Cruise. Booked as per normal & we were given a two bert cabin lower deck on the Princess Christina. nothing was stated about this cabin or about what to expect ?.
Firstly lower deck is what it says approx a foot above river level & the cabin best desribed as two broomcupboards joined ‘L’ shaped beds are pull down beds with sunken mattresses literally & for over 55s would say -uncomfortable. Seemingly if you want to upgrade either before/on the cruise extra £100 will be needed. No disrespects to the Princess Christina or the crew as they could not be more accomodating, excellent food/cruise, just beware of going lower deck especially if you have any disabilities, as you are not informed about any of this in the brochures.
