As York celebrates its 800thanniversary of the city’s Royal Charter, The National Railway Museum of York is hosting the biggest rail celebration, Railfest 2012. With a hosting space the size of 11 football pitches, Railfest 2012 holds 30 exhibits, with more than 100 locomotives including The Flying Scotsman, City of Truro, Tornado, locos from the modern industry and many more. There will be 250 rolling stock and thousands of other objects, ranging from tickets and posters to silverware and uniforms. There will also be hundreds of stalls and designated areas for refreshments and some live music. There event will also display miniature locomotives and toy train sets.
Covering over 200 years of railway history, this event is perfect for all fans of the railway. The event is set to take place 2nd – 10th June 2012.

There is a photo event on the 4th June 6.30pm-8.30pm / 5th June 7am – 9pm, and there is also an evening ticket available for purchase, for the 8th and 9th of June 6.30pm – 9.30pm.
