Globes 2014: Winners – Trafalgar & Insight do the double at last night’s Globe travel awards

blog-globe-awardsThe travel trade’s favourite suppliers have been honoured at a spectacular Travel Weekly Globe Travel Awards in London.

The event, at the Grosvenor House Hotel, was hosted by James Corden, with additional entertainment coming from classical string quartet Escala, sponsored by Celebrity Cruises, and Rick Parfitt Junior’s RPJ Band, sponsored by Norwegian Cruise Line.

Big winners included Trafalgar, which won both the escorted touring and trade sales team categories while sister operator Insight Vacations walked off with the luxury coach award.

Sales director Paul Melinis said: “We’re over the moon. We would like to thank all the travel agents who voted for us, and all the sales team who have worked so hard throughout 2013. It’s a real honour to come to a fantastic event like this, a great venue, and come out with an award that’s been voted wholly by the travel trade. We’ve never won three awards before – it’s an amazing achievement.”
