A tribute to our Managing Director, John Flin

I would like to pay tribute to our Managing Director John Flin, who sadly passed away on 16th February 2016. John was passionate about Coaches and Travel and had worked in the coach industry all his life. He founded Coachholidays.com in 1997 and it has been the leading coach holidays website ever since.

We are an independent family owned travel agency which first started operating coach tours in 1937. The loss of John has been very upsetting for both the business and his family, however I can assure you that we will continue to operate with the same high degree of integrity and excellent service that  John would expect from us.

We will be closing at 12pm on Tuesday 1st March as a mark of respect for John and to attend his memorial service. In place of flowers we will be donating to Cancer Research UK.

I was the General Manager of the Burlington Hotel in Eastbourne from the time that WA purchased it in 1992 until retirement in 2007, following the Shearings takeover.
I had many meetings with John at the hotel to see how we could maximise the tour business coming to Eastbourne through Croydon, and happy times they were too!
I am so sorry to learn of John’s passing and please convey my most sincere thoughts to his family.

    With my loving thoughts

John was unique, respected, and a ‘one off’.
I worked with John for almost thirty years, and he was one of the innovators during a period of changes within the industry. John’s integrity and honesty were beyond reproach and clearly this runs in the family. He was the hardest of workers, fun to be with, a force to be reckoned with, and would blush with embarrassment should he ever receive a compliment. Nothing was too much trouble, his clients would return time after time as they knew they would be in the safest of hands.
This culture runs right through his family and employees.
Coach Holidays.com was his baby and as Elle takes over the reins we can all be assured that it is still in safe hands.
    God bless you John.
