Hi my name is Nadine, I’m from Germany and my hometown is Munich. I am doing a work experience at Wallace Arnold Worldchoice.
And now I’m telling you something about Munich and the Munich Oktoberfest.
Munich is the capital and largest city of the German Bavaria, on the banks of River Isar north of the Bavarian Alps. Munich is the third largest city in Germany after Berlin and Hamburg and the 12th biggest city of the European Union with a population of around 1, 5 million.
The German Oktoberfest in Munich
Every year since 1810 it’s a big festival in Munich. So many people from all around the world comes and visit it. The typical food is roast pork with dumplings or chicken with potato salad. And of course beer. The Oktoberfest is the world largest folk festival. It is a 16 – 18 day folk festival running from mid or late September to the first weekend in October.
For the 200 year anniversary was 2010 the first historical Oktoberfest called “Oide Wiesn”. Where you can see animals like cows, sheep, pigs, chicken and so on.
