The soaring rate of the Euro has prompted a boost in domestic bookings for many holiday firms as travellers seek the best-value breaks.

Over-55s specialist Grand UK Holidays is well placed to take advantage of an increase in demand for British tours, because it has a wide domestic portfolio.

Warner Leisure Hotels is plugging holidays with a difference - ‘Experience’ breaks which could include anything from ‘Antiques Roadshow‘ style weekends to mushroom collecting.

Clearly spotting an opportunity to get away from the usual pattern of its guests being out of the hotel all day, Warners wants to entice them to stay in with activity breaks that are a tad less strenuous than skiing and rock climbing.
